Algonquin Hotel Times Square, Autograph Collection

Great location. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful, even when circumstances were working against them, they made every effort to accommodate our requests. Very good food in bar and restaurant. Very good gym.

It was disappointing on several points. We had a 1 bedroom suite for 3 nights which had very tired decor, broken window blinds, no in-room fridge, antiquated heating/air con system, erratic water temperature for showering, often just lukewarm water. Given that we were paying almost $1000 per night, we really expected a higher level of comfort and amenities from the room. My husband had stayed here often 30 years ago and remembered the hotel fondly for quality and charm. Sadly, he felt the hotel had not moved with the times, despite recent and ongoing refurbishment and the room just felt old and shabby.

Definately not your typical big box hotel. Lots of old world character. Yes the rooms are small but they are comfortable and the staff is fantastic. Nice hotel bar for quick drinks. As a Marriott property you’ll get your points and enjoy benefits of your status.

Lage nahe Rockefeller Center, Times Square, 5th Avenue Shopping Jennie von der Reception war der einzige Lichtblick in diesem Haus!

Zimmer in einem absolut schäbigem Zustand, ausgenommen Badezimmer. Ich habe das Zimmer beanstandet und auf einen Wechsel bestanden. Es wurde behauptet, dass die ausgebucht seien. Da habe ich auf eine gründliche Reinigung bestanden. Der komische Geschmack im Zimmer blieb. Die Reinigung hat zwar den Staub entfernt, aber der Teppich und Vorhang blieben schmuddelig. Auch die Gänge sind sehr trüb und schmuddelig. Das Frühstück ist sogar für NY Verhältnisse überteuert und mein scrambled egg war ungeniessbar (zudem noch mit Haaren…)

I was greatly disappointed in this hotel. It was classified as an Autograph Collection hotel, which generally is upscale. My room was fairly shabby, with ripped and frayed carpeting. Could hardly fit in the bathroom it was so small. Some of the staff were unhelpful, borderline rude. As someone said earlier, they act like they are doing you a favor by helping you.
