Sofitel New York

We always stay at the Sofitel when we go to NYC. It’s centrally located and we loved the renovated look this time. The lobby feels more inviting and the decor throughout has been refreshed. The beautiful flower arrangement by the elevators is an elegant touch. The rooms are perfect for sleeping: quiet (we never hear neighboring rooms), dark (good blackout curtains), and cool (great AC). There’s excellent lighting in the bathroom, as well as a makeup mirror. We also noticed there was a clothes steamer in our closet, which is very handy. My only complaint is that you can hear other doors slamming loudly in the hallway. I don’t recall that being the case before the renovation, so I’m not sure if something changed. If a slow-closing mechanism could be installed, that would be much appreciated. Otherwise great stay!

Great place to stay very close to Time square, Broadway, central Park and rockfeller center… Amazing team with every morning smile and wonderful service from the breakfast team (Arian and Manuel)! You were our everyday sunshine during our stay! Also big thanks to Gilbert for his kind welcome. We had a fantastic room.

Location, right between 5 and 6 avenues, close to the Theatre district with many dining options around. Perfect views from the room, the hotel is just after renovation.

The staff is somewhat uninterested in what is going on. Everyone is polite but are not seem to be interested in helping the guest unless asked for. Room cleaning is ok, however nothing except the towels was replaced during the stay - no paper cups (!) for coffee, no Nespresso capsules, no drinks in the minibar, no bathrobes left on the floor to be changed. Every morning had to call the housekeeping and wait for 15-20 minutes for all those basic things.
