JW Marriott Absheron Baku Hotel

The reception staff were very nice

I paid for the property in advance and had my Apple Pay but not the physical card so unfortunately hotel policy didn’t allow me to check in and I had to pay the amount again with the same card. They processed a refund for the first charge however I haven’t received it (banking times) also there was an event at the hotel which I was not aware of and a lot of security presence and they checked everyone’s bags and pockets before entering the hotel every time. The atmosphere was intimidating and I did actually want to leave and book another hotel but I was not able to as they said they would not refund me even if I didn’t stay because of my booking conditions. The rules are the rules but I wish they accommodate and accepted the situation

Staff was very helpful when I was stuck at the airport because I didn’t have a visa. They worked with my friend who had just arrived from St. Petersburg. I was paying for our rooms But they worked with him to get bro a room until I arrived with my credit card.

The bathroom faucet was SOOOOOO bizarre. A woman guest, bending over to wash her face would result in a flooded bathroom floor. Showed it to the maintenance man but knew nothing could be done. Just major design flaw.
