JRH Inn was the perfect place to spend Independence Weekend! They provided a number of amenities to make our celebration more fun and festive. If you love history or just love special experiences, you must stay here! We look forward to returning and continuing to learn more American history while enjoying the beauty of Charleston. The staff is incredibly gracious and helpful; they created a warm atmosphere where the guests and staff enjoyed engaging with one another. We have serious dietary restrictions and had assumed we'd need to provide for ourselves, but they planned ahead for us to ensure we had breakfast and afternoon options, which is highly unusual but much appreciated. Staying in the home of a man who worked on our Constitution, in those very rooms, looking across to the home of his brother, who signed the Declaration, was inspiring and meaningful. JRH Inn is a special place and I highly recommend staying. We are grateful for all they did to help us celebrate a wonderful event. We can't wait to go back.

Beautiful house ! Beautiful room ! Staff very attentive, great mattress, bathroom has plenty of lighting for applying makeup. In walking distance of many historic homes ,sites, and good restaurants. Area seems very safe. Lots of good shopping.

We took a room in the main house for 3 nights. It was an amazing stay with amazing staff. The front desk staff were particularly helpful - upon arrival I erroneously parked in the church car park next door - an easy mistake but no harm. I was directed to the Inns’ car park to the rear. A very easy self-park - particularly to unload the luggage😃 Our king-bed room in the main house (lower floor) was pretty large - complete with couches and dining table with chairs - it would be referred to as a suite in a modern hotel. It was well serviced - kept clean - fresh towels etc. Coffee making facilities are external to the room. Breakfast was cooked to order - served in the garden - and very wholesome. The afternoon tea and snacks; plus the evening port/sherry/brandy made slipping in/out very easy whilst walking between Charleston attractions. Overall it is not “at the cheap end of hotels - but very good value” - easy to return and recommend.
