Great rooms, great view, and great service
The rooms are honestly the best of class for a Marriott resort property. It makes sene that this hotel was built as a Ritz Carlton residence. The views are spectacular and the terrace is great. We had an issue when we checked in and Candee R. was very understanding and immediately resolved the problem. Great service. No restaurant on property to our family is a plus because it forces you to explore the local area and sample the great restaurants. The resort is perfect for relaxation and turning off your cell phones.

Excellent Stay at Kauai Lagoons
Wow! The best service and wonderful villas. View is out of this world, and everything works like it should. Very clean facilities.

A Beautiful Retreat.
Simply Spectacular. On a promontory overlooking the mountains surrounding Kalapaki Beach on Kaua’i and the great Pacific beyond, these villas were originally created as residences, but are now available by Marriott for rent. The rooms are in fact big 2 & 3 bedroom villas immaculately furnished with full kitchens and washer/dryers. Literally , a home in Paradise. There are two medium sized pools and a well-equipped fitness centre. Staff are courteous and helpful. You really need a car here to get to shops and restaurants and of course, to explore the beautiful ‘Garden Isle’. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Not a 4 star resort - Avoid until they fix the pest issues and property condition
I really wanted to love this stay, but I’m leaving extremely disappointed. This property is marketed as a 4-star luxury Marriott resort, but it’s currently not living up to that brand. We found cockroaches in multiple spots in our villa—both in the bathroom and in the kitchen right near our food. We have kids with us, so finding roaches where we’re eating and sleeping was a huge deal-breaker. The hotel offered to have someone clean the day before we left, but a quick scrub doesn't fix a pest problem in a villa with a kitchen. The grounds are also in rough shape. There are abandoned, decaying buildings and stalled construction projects all over the place that aren't shown in the photos online. It feels like a construction site in parts, and there’s no on-site dining or basic amenities you’d expect at these prices. The staff we spoke to were polite, but the management’s resolution was a joke—they offered us 5,000 points (about a $40 value). That’s an insulting "fix" for a stay compromised by pests and misrepresented property conditions. I’ve uploaded photos of the roaches and the state of the grounds so other travelers (especially families) know what they’re actually walking into. We’ve already filed a formal complaint with Marriott Corporate and the Kauai Health Office. Save your money and book elsewhere until they actually address these issues.

Disappointing
If you are a Marriott Vacation Club owner, you will be very disappointed in this resort. Unlike the other Marriott resorts I’ve been to in Hawaii, this one 1) does not have a beach to walk to and relax on 2) does not have any adult activities like yoga, water aerobics, mixology classes 3) there is no bar or restaurant on the premises and therefore no one to bring food or drinks by the pool. 4) Speaking of the pool, it is so small and packed with kids, I did not/could not go in. The water was warm and unappealing. I had hoped to relax by a serene pool for this vacation but this did not happen. There is no guard at the gate, like most MVCs, and it seemed that local kids had free access to this pool. No one came by to check wristbands or anything. This was not the Marriott Vacation Club experience that I’ve enjoyed over the 20 years I’ve been an owner. I suppose if you don’t mind not having a nice pool, restaurant, bar, resort activities, or beach access, you could enjoy yourself. The rooms are super clean, quiet, and spacious, the appliances new (though so complicated to use I had to ask the front desk), has all the kitchen utensils you need, there’s a nice balcony and furnishings. The property is large and we took some very nice, long walks. But still fell short- I want a pina colada!
