Hotel Nelligan

We booked this place based on several positive online reviews but were disappointed to find the property under construction and lacking the touch we expected. The Terrasse restaurant was equally underwhelming, with an uncomfortably hot dining area and inattentive service. The food fell well below expectations. The burger was spoiled by a bitter tomato sauce, the lobster roll made mostly of shredded meat rather than generous lobster piece, and the Shrimp Naan is simply a culinary mistake. Other details, like serving tea bags in tiny coffee cups filled halfway, and being seated near the kitchen and noisy service station while 80% of the terrasse was and remained empty during our visit added to the disappointing experience. - We don't understand the hype, especially when there are many better options in town.

Hotel Nelligan is a small hotel in the heart of Old Montreal, very close to Notre Dame Cathedral. The staff is excellent from the restaurant staff to the concierge and front desk. The room was a very nice size, with comfortable bedding and heated bathroom floor, which was nice to have in December. The shower was fantastic, easy to use and quite large. We had dinner in the in house steakhouse and breakfast in their other restaurant. We did not include the breakfast package for $28 Canadian dollars which we should have. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas, with several large trees in the public spaces. Highly recommended!

Food, atmosphere and vibe were top notch. The staff were awesome, especially Bilal. He went above and beyond, as always
