Centrally located within walking distance of attractions & restaurants.

Parking was quite a distance from hotel and still cost 24 euros per day. Long walk in the rain to get the car.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very well located, which was definitely one of its strongest points, and the overall experience was positive. There are, however, a few areas where we feel there is room for improvement. The breakfast selection was rather limited, especially considering the relatively high price. At this price point, we would expect a wider and more varied offering. The parking fee of €30 per day also felt quite expensive and is something guests arriving by car should take into consideration. One disappointing issue occurred on our final day, when we noticed that the bed linen was not properly clean and had an unpleasant smell. Since it was our last day, we chose not to raise the matter with the hotel. To be fair, based on our overall impression of the service, I am confident that had we reported it, the staff would have replaced it promptly. Despite these points, we enjoyed our stay. With some improvement to the breakfast offering and greater attention to housekeeping details, the hotel could provide an even better overall experience.

A delightful hotel in the heart of Munich, Platzl Hotel offered a fast check-in experience, responsive staff, and stellar facilities. The room was well appointed and spotless, with a couple of bottles of Ayinger Helles ready in the in-room refrigerator. The air conditioning was mild by North American standards but powerful by German standards, and having the A/C was one reason I chose this hotel. I was not disappointed. I did not have a chance to eat at the Ayinger am Platzl restaurant, but I was lucky enough to pop in for a Helles vom Holzfass, which evidently is available most (maybe every) evening. The location is, of course, about as good as it gets, and I appreciated being so near the Marienplatz station, which made for convenient connections, especially as Hauptbahnhof is experiencing ongoing construction. I would not hesitate to stay at Platzl again, and I will enthusiastically recommend it to friends and family.

There may have been some slight miscommunication about the daily cleaning policy. I declined daily cleaning at check-in, as I'm more than happy to reuse my towels, and I don't need my bed made. However, it's nice to have the rubbish removed if the bin is full and to have consumables such as tissue replaced. It was no problem―I simply placed the placard on my door a couple of days to have the room cleaned―but a bit more clarity might be welcome.
