No breakfast

Loved all the nice extras like breakfast, happy hour and free shuttles. Our place was quiet, spacious and perfectly suited for 2 women vacationing together.

In the pictures it seemed and looked like we were closer to the ocean, with a view of it. But no, only got a peek on the rooftop.

We chose the Coronado Beach Resort thanks to all the great past reviews. Check in was fabulous. The staff are lovely, the resort is very clean and efficient. We booked a 1 Brm Suite and unfortunately it failed to impress. It had one queen bed which was in a sort of alcove rather than a separate bedroom. It was separated by a curtain rather than a door from the little living room. The suite was also smaller than expected. The mattress on the bed was very old and had a big dip in the middle which made it very uncomfortable. We pulled out the sofabed and it was terrible. I ended up using the sofabed mattress on the floor with the addition of a provided mattress topper. Not what I would expect for $400 per night. Staff told me the resort was too busy to move us to a new suite. Also beware of the suites looking towards the beach and the Del across the road. The road is incredibly busy until late at night and the original, old fashioned windows mean you can hear everything. Sleep was interrupted by the traffic. Not to mention the aircraft from the Naval base at the opposite end of the island but those do quieten down after 10pm. Our toilet blocked multiple times - we had to get maintenance to come in and check the toilet. But the kitchenette was excellent and the TVs worked fine. A warning - something we did not know at the time of booking and something that I believe hotels should make travellers aware of. Coronado Island is essentially a non smoking island. People cannot smoke in public places at all (streets, parks, anywhere) except for on the golf course and at a couple of spots at the Del hotel. This is police controlled and people can face instant fines of $100. But the island is beautiful and the cafes and restaurants are excellent. I think we would return to the island itself - but we would not stay at the Coronado Beach Resort, opting instead to find something more quiet with bigger suites.

Absolutely loved our stay at Coronado Beach Resort. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thank you to KC for accommodating an early check-in—it made our arrival smooth and stress-free. The complimentary coffee was a great touch and honestly some of the best we’ve had while traveling. Small details like that really made the experience feel thoughtful and elevated. Overall, an excellent stay from beginning to end. Great service, warm hospitality, and a wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend and would gladly stay again.
