Ace Hotel Seattle

Good rest and location to Clipper dock...breakfast was very much appreciated

Room air was not fresh. A/C did not work...only fan.

The manager, Doug, was friendly, helpful, and informative. My room was small, but comfortable, and the shower was excellent and, even if it was outside the room, conveniently located across the corridor. The breakfast was decent and there was enough variety to get you started in the day. Getting to know the city by, at first, walking everywhere, I soon discovered the proximity of West Lake transit station and nicer areas just off the city centre.

It is all about expectations and I just have to say that in the States hotel accomodation is, very often, not good value for money. However, having said that, I did talk to another tourist at breakfast and she informed me that in her experience this was decent value for money. Getting to know Seattle, I would probably choose another area to stay if I was there again. The city centre is not without its problems, and it is not particularly nice. A bigger television in the room would have been appreciated, something needs to be done about the windows, which are very difficult to open, and, while the hotel is clean, the threadbare carperts might convey a different impression.

Location was great!
