Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Shanghai. Our flight landed early in the morning, and although our room wasn’t ready yet (which was completely understandable), the hotel made the start of our holiday effortless. We headed straight to the spa, where we were able to shower, change, and enjoy the facilities before exploring the city. The steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool were exactly what we needed after a long-haul flight. It couldn’t have been a better way to begin our trip. The location is excellent. Overlooking the Huangpu River with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, the views are beautiful both day and night. The Bund is just a short distance away, and IFC is within walking distance. The complimentary shuttle service to nearby landmarks and luxury hotels made getting around even more convenient. The room was spacious, modern with an oversized freestanding bath by the window and very comfortable. Waking up to the river view every morning was a highlight of our stay. Breakfast was outstanding, with an extensive selection of both Western and Asian dishes. We especially enjoyed sitting outside by the water whenever the weather allowed—it was a lovely, peaceful way to start the day. What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Every member of staff we met—from the front desk and concierge to the restaurant spa and bar team—was genuinely warm, professional and attentive. Nothing ever felt too much trouble. Considering the quality of the facilities, the location and the level of service, I genuinely think Mandarin Oriental Shanghai PuDong offers excellent value for money among the city’s luxury hotels. I would happily stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.

The check-in was smooth and welcoming. My room was always clean thanks to the housekeeping team, and the concierge staff were professional, friendly, and full of great recommendations. I also loved how efficient the hotel app was — every request was handled quickly and courteously. Overall, the warmth, professionalism, and dedication of the entire team made my stay exceptional.
