It was very nice for a hostel - the beds have privacy curtains, individual outlets, and lights. The curtains even do a fair job preventing the lights from disturbing other guests - it's almost like your own micro-room. The common areas are nice, although there typically aren't a lot of people there. But everyone I ran into (staff and other guests) was very friendly. The bathrooms are well-stocked and clean. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough bathrooms since there were only two private bathrooms per floor, but that never ended up being an issue. There are large lockers in the rooms, but you need to provide (or buy) your own locks, which I think is pretty standard. I stayed there after doing the GAP/C&O trail, and it worked very well for that. There's an outside, locked storage area for bikes.

I booked a non-refundable, non-cancelable rate. At the time that I booked it, it confirmed the accommodation type and the price, which was prepaid and non-refundable. A minute later, I got an emailed receipt from their system, and saw that it charged me $5.99 more than the price that was confirmed. I still have the confirmation with the "final price" that was $5.99 less than the price I was charged. The "final price" was, itself, significantly higher than the price that was displayed on the listing, but that's less of a concern for me since you're not committing to anything at that point and many other properties do that (although many don't). I'm not really worried about $5.99, but I wish that places would be honest about the price upfront. To be fair, I never contacted them about this (since the amount isn't that significant to me), so I don't know whether it was intentional or a technical issue, but it's just something to look out for.

The bottom bunk is uncomfortable, but the second and third tiers are fine(maybe)

It’s a beautiful standalone small house with a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook. You’ll meet travelers from all over the world, chat with them and share food together—truly wonderful memories to make.

The bed on the bottom tier has wheels under its mattress frame, so it keeps sliding around. It scrapes against the wall panels and makes constant noise, making it really uncomfortable to sleep in.
